Warhammer 40,000

Fancy learning how to play Warhammer 40K? You can at Ayrshire Games Expo!

We’re excited to welcome organisers of West Coast Crucible. They’re a wargaming and tabletop gaming group based in Saltcoats and just as passionate about bringing people together as we are.

You can pop into West Coast Crucible on Thursdays from 6pm at Trinity Church building across from Costa, Dockhead Street, Saltcoats. The group has just moved into their new hub and will be expanding into more games! You can see more details on their website here.

We can’t wait for them to show us how to play Warhammer 40K and hope you’ll give it a go.

What a Cowboy!

Want to play something a bit different? Members from The Grumpy Goblins gaming group will be hosting a demonstration of “What A Cowboy!” at the Ayrshire Games Expo.

What a Cowboy! is a popular set of rules for miniature wargaming. In this game, players use 28mm figures to recreate cinematic Wild West shootouts, build their own gangs, and play through narrative campaigns.

The Grumpy Goblins are a tabletop gaming group from Kilmarnock. Their main focus is wargaming although they are also known to play modern board games and card games like Magic The Gathering.

You can find The Grumpy Goblins in the Masonic Hall on London Road in Kilmarnock. Meetings are every Wednesday from 7pm. Join their Facebook group to see what they get up to.

Backgammon

Ever wondered how to play the classic game of Backgammon? You’ll have the chance to learn this 2 player racing game with the organiser of Ayr Backgammon Club.

Backgammon is a deceptively strategic game. Although players rely on dice rolls to move around the board, you will need to make the right choices to protect your pieces from being knocked back to the start! Can you clear all your pieces off the board before your opponent?

Ayr Backgammon Club meets every Tuesday from 7pm at the Bell Rock, Ayr Road, Prestwick. Anyone is welcome to attend for fun or join in with the friendly competitions. You can see full details here.
